This short film offers a glimpse into his life, a tireless advocate for Los Angeles' unhoused community. Gustavo's dedication to helping others echoes his late mother's compassion, inspiring hope amidst the city's houselessness crisis.

Filmed a year before his unexpected passing in November 2023, I am Gustavo captures Gustavo Otzoy's unwavering commitment to fighting for the rights of LA's unhoused residents. This short film is a humble tribute to Gustavo's resilience and compassion, highlighting the stark realities faced by thousands of individuals living on the streets. In 2023 alone, Los Angeles witnessed a devastating six unhoused deaths daily, underscoring the urgent need for community support and systemic change. While I am Gustavo provides only a brief glimpse into Gustavo's life, it aims to inspire continued advocacy and action towards ensuring every Angeleno has a place to call home.
Currently, I am Gustavo is being screened exclusively at film festivals, and is expected to be available to the public in 2024.
